Is Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan desperate about his political future? This question has been raised in the political circles of Pakistan. The reason for this is the increasingly sharp tongue of Imran Khan. His critics say that now Imran Khan is not even taking care of the dignity of the post of Prime Minister while making political statements. The latest example of this is his threat to the opposition on the issue of no-confidence motion.
Opposition parties have announced to bring a no-confidence motion against the Imran Khan government. At present, they are trying to mobilize more and more parties in support of this proposal. In this connection, on Sunday, Imran Khan threatened that if the no-confidence motion is dropped, then the opposition parties will have to bear the brunt of bringing this resolution. He said- ‘If your no-confidence motion is dropped, what will I do with you after that, do you have any idea?’
Called Fazlur Rehman ‘Diesel’
Imran Khan said that the opposition leaders want to remove him from the post of Prime Minister so that after that he can continue looting the country. He asked who is supporting Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) and then raised the question- ‘Can a fox become a leader’. Imran Khan called former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif the ‘number one criminal’. He asked the workers of PML-Nawaz why Nawaz Sharif fled the country by pressing his tail.
Imran Khan was addressing a public meeting. In this he also used derogatory words against other opposition leaders. He called Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari “a disease”. Said that Zardari was infamous for consuming 10 per cent commission for every work. He addressed Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the coalition of opposition parties- Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), as Fazlu Diesel. He said that he would never call him Maulana, as the word meant for an educated and reliable person. Imran said- ‘The word Maulana cannot be used for a person who sells diesel permits’.
Speaker of Punjab Assembly warned
This tone of Imran Khan has been strongly criticized in the opposition circles. On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League (Qaid) President and Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervez Elahi has cautioned Imran Khan to be careful with his advisors. Elahi said these advisors were creating a conflict between the prime minister and the media. Elahi, in a message to the prime minister, expressed concern over the recent statements made by Imran Khan’s aides.
According to the news published in the newspaper Dawn, in this message, Elahi said- ‘Some members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have been stopped by some media channels from participating in their debate. So if PTI continues on this path, it will not be able to present a balanced narrative before the country. Elahi has also expressed concern over the alleged ban imposed on some newspapers and media houses from advertising. Observers say the approach of Imran Khan and the PTI led by him has become more aggressive in recent times. Due to this his image is getting worse.
