Islamabad: Recently in Kyrgyzstan, three Pakistani students were beaten to death by angry locals. India had issued an advisory after such attacks on Pakistani students. It was said in the advisory that Indian students should stay indoors. At present, the situation is normal in Kyrgyzstan but after the recent attacks, more than three thousand Pakistanis have returned to their country from Kyrgyzstan. Most of the returnees include students.
Pakistanis are continuously returning from Kyrgyzstan
Pakistan started using special and commercial flights over the weekend to bring people back home. More people are expected to return on Wednesday, taking their number to just over four thousand by midnight. Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar told a press conference here that the situation in Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek is now under control and authorities are trying to arrest those who attacked foreigners, including Pakistanis.
People want to return to their country
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said a large number of Pakistanis study or work in Kyrgyzstan and most of them want to return home. He said he had visited Bishkek the previous day, where he met his counterpart as well as Pakistanis living there. “However, the situation in Bishkek is now normal and we are helping those Pakistanis who want to come back,” Dar said.
