Peshawar: Flood and rain have wreaked havoc in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. According to reports, many houses have collapsed due to torrential rains and hailstorm in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province during the last 24 hours. Due to this, 7 people including 5 children died. The officers provided this information. Heavy rain and hailstorm lashed large parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the second consecutive day on Saturday. Five people, including three children, were buried under the debris after a house collapsed due to rain in Bajaur tribal district.
Two children died after the roof of their room collapsed due to torrential rains in Shangla district, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said. The rains also damaged crops in Khyber Tribal District, Peshawar, Nowshera and Charsadda districts. The district administration initiated immediate relief measures in the rain-affected areas to provide assistance to the affected families. Earlier this month, at least 37 people were killed in rain-related incidents across Pakistan, officials said. (Language)
