The 55-year-old Wasim, popularly known as the Swing of Sultan, has achieved many achievements in his career. He has been one of the best left arm fast bowlers in cricket history. He took a total of 916 wickets in his international career. He took 502 wickets in ODIs and 414 wickets in Tests. He was the first cricketer in the world to take 500 ODI wickets. Apart from bowling, he also made his mark in batting. Wasim scored 6615 international runs in his career from 1984 to 2003.
West Indies legend Sir Vivian Richards honored Wasim with a special cap and memento ahead of the 28th match of the Pakistan Super League.

After receiving this honor, Wasim thanked his fans and Pakistan Cricket. He said, “I am privileged to receive this great honor from one of the most iconic figures in cricket, Sir Vivian Richards, at a place that has been my home ground throughout my playing career. I am one of the former cricketers. I would also like to congratulate the Pakistan Cricket Board for starting this initiative to recognize and acknowledge the contribution.
He further said, “It is an honor to represent Pakistan in the 18 years during which I played 460 international matches. My every wicket and every run in these matches was priceless. I would like to thank God for giving me an opportunity to serve this great country at the highest level. I want to thank all my fans who have been my biggest strength.”
