Mahasamund. Traffic signals were launched at Ambedkar Chowk, Nehru Chowk and Baronda (Pandit Deendayal Chowk) Chowk in the city on Thursday with the objective of reducing road accidents, controlling speeding vehicles and strengthening the traffic system.
On the first day, traffic personnel were stationed at all the above chowks and were seen controlling the drivers and the traffic system of the highway continued smoothly, but till Friday and Saturday evening, no traffic personnel were seen on these chowks.
As a result, it is being seen that the drivers who are aware of the traffic or who follow the rules kept on following the signal, but most of the drivers were seen ignoring it. If the vehicle is not stopped even after the red light is on, there is a possibility of an accident.
People say that for the improvement of the system, it is necessary to have a traffic jawan at the square, so that people will be aware of the traffic rules and the traffic system will run smoothly.
narrow road
The width of the road has been reduced due to illegal occupation of the road around each square. The road has become narrow.
At some places, the road has side markings and zebra crossings, yet drivers and retailers are ignoring it. However, marking is required at many places.
Parking is a problem in front of the shops
Parking in the city has been the biggest and problem from the beginning. There is no parking space in the road side shops. Customers keep their vehicles on the road. The shopkeepers do not hire private employees when the vehicle is arranged. Chaotic parking creates problems for commuters and leads to traffic jams. The administration has not yet taken cognizance of this.
Those who leave the left have trouble
When a red light is lit at an intersection, people stop in such a way that they do not even leave room for those on the left, forcing them to stop unnecessarily. All this can be arranged only with the presence of traffic personnel.
