What are Nari Shakti Puraskars
Under the initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, ‘Nari Shakti Puraskars’ are given for outstanding contributions made by individuals and institutions in the cause of women. These awards are given to those women who have done a great job in bringing about a positive change in the society. These awards recognize the efforts of women who are becoming equal partners in the progress of the society. It is noteworthy that age, geographical barriers or lack of access to resources did not deter these women from achieving excellence.
The Nari Shakti Puraskar winners for the year 2020 include entrepreneurship, agriculture, innovation, social work, arts, handicrafts, STEMM and wildlife conservation. The Nari Shakti Puraskar winners for the year 2021 include women from the fields of Linguistics, Entrepreneurship, Agriculture, Social Work, Art, Handcrafts, Merchant Navy, STEMM, Education, Literature, Divyangjan Rights etc.
