Panaji. Goa Energy Minister Sudin Dhavalikar accused the media of “trying to create problems for the community” over his remarks that a survey like Gyanvapi Masjid to locate ancient Shivlings at religious places in Goa was conducted. Speaking to reporters after a state cabinet meeting, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party MLA Dhavalikar also said that he made the controversial remark only because media persons asked him a question about conducting a survey on religious places in Goa like Gyanvapi Masjid .
Dhavalikar said, “I didn’t say that. You asked me a question. You are unnecessarily creating problems for the community.”
On Tuesday, Dhavalikar had said, “The Archaeological Survey of India has to work in that regard. I personally feel that there may be such Shivling at sites where temples were demolished after 1510 century. Shivling can be found anywhere in Goa and can certainly be found at such sites.”
