New Delhi. Votes are being cast today to choose the new President of the country. NDA has fielded tribal Draupadi Murmu for this post. Whereas, Yashwant Sinha, a former BJP leader and Union Minister, has been made the candidate from the opposition side. Murmu and Yashwant Sinha have toured across the country since their candidature. Murmu visited the states ruled by the NDA and the parties supporting himself. At the same time, Sinha sought votes in opposition-ruled states. He also went to many other states and met opposition leaders. Now just before the elections, Murmu and Yashwant have issued statements requesting everyone to vote in their favor. Yashwant Sinha, seeing his defeat decided, even appealed to the BJP members to vote to save the party and to end the dominance of one person (Modi).
Draupadi Murmu attended the NDA meeting at Parliament House on Sunday. He said that his nomination for the biggest constitutional post of the country is a matter of great opportunity and happiness for the tribals and women. He said that both these sections are excited about his victory. He thanked all the parties who supported him. Murmu said in the meeting that there are about 10 crore tribals in the country and they also have more than 700 communities. All of them are happy that I have been nominated as the presidential candidate.
My appeal to all the members who are going to cast their vote before the Presidential election tomorrow:
Listen to your conscience and vote for me. pic.twitter.com/FawIxf1vas

At the same time, Yashwant Sinha, the opposition candidate for the post of President, released his statement before voting. Yashwant Sinha appealed to all the MPs and MLAs to vote after listening to their conscience. Reiterating his old point, he said that this election is not between two people but between two ideologies. I want to protect the provisions and values of the constitution. Yashwant especially appealed to BJP MLAs and MPs to vote to save the party. He also targeted PM Narendra Modi in his statement without naming him.
