New Delhi. The Punjab government has announced financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to the family of farmer Shubhakaran Singh, who lost his life at the Khanauri border during the farmers’ movement. The government has also decided to give a government job to Shubhakaran Singh’s younger sister. . Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann made the announcement on his ‘X’ post, saying that appropriate legal action would be taken against the culprits. It is noteworthy that chaos spread on the Shambhu and Khanauri border between Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday when 21-year-old farmer Shubhakarun Singh lost his life during the farmer protest. The deceased was the only brother of two sisters. After the death of Shubhakaran Singh, farmers postponed their plans to march to Delhi for two days.
Meanwhile, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) demanded a case be registered against Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Home Minister Anil Vij for the “murder” of the young farmer and announced a tractor march next week. SKM announced that farmers will observe ‘Black Day’ on Friday to express grief over the death and burn effigies of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and state Home Minister Anil Vij.

SKM announced that farmers will take out a tractor march on the highways on February 26 and organize an ‘All India Kisan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat’ at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on March 14.
