matter raised in assembly
Giving information to Speaker CP Joshi and Higher Education Minister Rajendra Yadav, Deputy Leader of Opposition in the House Rajendra Rathore told that these claims made in the bill are wrong. He said that the way it is mentioned in the bill, there is nothing like it on the spot. After this a factual report was sought from the Sikar Collector. In the report, the collector confirmed that no construction work has taken place there. After this the minister withdrew the bill. Significantly, there are 1800 private colleges and 52 private universities in Rajasthan. In this regard, Higher Education Minister Rajendra Yadav said that a high level inquiry would be conducted. Action will be taken against whoever is guilty in the case. The tools used by the department for verification will have to be further improved. In this, officers of Revenue Department, SDM and PWD officers should be involved and verification should be done after seeing the land and construction.
‘We are getting the investigation done’
The Higher Education Minister said that the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the House showed the picture of the structure on the vacant land. Its location was not clear, yet investigation was conducted after taking cognizance of the matter. A factual report was sought from the Sikar Collector in the matter. It came to the fore that this university is not the place about which we were informed. We are forming a committee to investigate the matter in depth. Rajendra Yadav said that although the committee which had verified the university says that they have the photo and video of that place. All aspects will be thoroughly examined. Strict action will be taken if any deficiency is found.
after all what is the reality
The Higher Education Minister further said that the Sikar Collector’s report states that no construction has taken place on the spot where the university has been mentioned. Now it is a matter of investigation that which place was verified by the members of the committee formed earlier? What is the condition of the university in reality and what is the reality of the pictures shared by the opposition? He said that I am sure that those who run such universities and do the verification are responsible people of the society. This is the first case of its kind and strict action should be taken in this matter.
The members of the verification committee said this
On the other hand, Professor Jayant Singh, a member of the Verification Committee, says that we had gone to the site which the government had asked us to visit and submitted the report. We did videography there and also took photos. The committee of letter of intent had done the verification before us. On the other hand, Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore said that on March 19, I myself had visited that place and there was nothing there. He said that to my knowledge this is the first time that a bill has been withdrawn after it was introduced in the assembly.
Never seen this in a career of 40 years
Rajendra Rathore said in the house that for the last several years I am traveling from Jaipur to my assembly constituency Churu. During this I go through Sikar. I was very surprised that no such university had ever come to my notice. After this I contacted the patwari and reached the spot, there was nothing there. Showing the pictures of that place, he said that either take my resignation for taking these pictures or file an FIR against the members of the committee who verified this university. On the other hand, Leader of Opposition in the House Gulab Chand Kataria said that it is very unfortunate that a bill related to a private university is withdrawn at this stage. I have never seen anything like this in my 40 year career.
