There is a wind of change again in Bihar. The reason is again Nitish Kumar. Nitish Kumar may change sides again. Can leave Lalu and meet Modi. There were many indications of this in the last thirty-six hours. Many incidents took place from Patna to Delhi. Nitish Kumar is at the center of everything. Nitish was also present in the Republic Day program organized in Patna on Friday, and Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav was also present, but Tejashwi did not sit on the chair kept near the Chief Minister. He sat at some distance with his party leader and speaker Avadh Narayan Chaudhary. There was no conversation between the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister during the entire program. Here, news came in Delhi that Nitish is going to form government with BJP. There was bad blood between Nitish and RJD for the last several weeks. Nitish on Wednesday criticized nepotism, praised Narendra Modi for giving Bharat Ratna to Karpoori Thakur. On Thursday, Lalu Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya attacked Nitish on Twitter without taking his name, questioning his intentions. Lalu’s daughter wrote on Twitter – “The only one who claims to be a socialist leader is the one whose ideology changes like the winds. .. Express your frustration, what will happen when no one is worthy of you, who will ignore the rule of law, when one’s own intentions change?” I am the one at fault”. When these tweets went viral and created an uproar, Lalu’s daughter deleted the tweet. JDU leader KC Tyagi said that children should not speak in the matters of elders. A day earlier, in the program of birth centenary of Karpoori Thakur, Nitish had attacked nepotism and said that Karpoori ji never promoted his family during his lifetime and he himself never promoted nepotism, but today’s leaders, Let’s take our sons and daughters forward.
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar refused to participate in the rally to be held during Rahul Gandhi’s Nyay Yatra. It is being said that he can go to Narendra Modi’s rally to be held in Bettiah on 4th February. Late on Wednesday night, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and JP Nadda had a three-hour meeting in which the strategy regarding Bihar was decided. There was a discussion on whether the door should be opened for Nitish Kumar or not. Nitish Kumar called a sudden meeting of big leaders of his party in Patna. A meeting of RJD leaders is also going on at Rabri Devi’s house for the last two days. BJP President JP Naddha canceled his visit to Kerala. On Thursday night, a meeting of big leaders of Bihar BJP was held at Amit Shah’s house in Delhi. One thing is very clear. It does not matter to Nitish Kumar whether he goes with BJP or stays with Lalu. Nitish just has to see how his position remains intact. Lalu is pressurizing him to leave the chair, he wants to make Tejashwi the Chief Minister and if BJP promises to keep Nitish as the Chief Minister, then Nitish will go with BJP.
Since Nitish knows that at this time both BJP and Lalu need him, whoever he goes with will benefit, that is why Nitish would like BJP to make concrete promises. After that the talk moved forward. There is no problem at present in BJP keeping Nitish as the Chief Minister, but the question is, then where is the hindrance? The obstacles are in the mathematics of the assembly. There are total 243 members in the Assembly, 122 are needed for majority. BJP has 78 MLAs. The number of MLAs of Nitish’s party is 45 and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party has four MLAs. The total number of MLAs of the three parties is 127, i.e. 5 more than the majority, but Lalu Yadav can make a bet and break Nitish’s party. If we add the number of 79 MLAs of Lalu’s party, 19 of Congress, 16 of Left parties and two other MLAs, the figure comes to 116, i.e. just 6 less than the majority. Nitish is afraid that Lalu may break some MLAs of his party and may force the resignation of some MLAs. The speaker is close to Lalu. They can get benefit from this. This can mess up all the math. That is why one option is to dissolve the assembly. In such a situation, assembly elections should be conducted in Bihar along with Lok Sabha. But there is very little time for that. BJP does not seem ready for this. And now the matter has grown so much, it has spread so much that whatever has to be done has to be done quickly, so I think whatever has to happen in Bihar can also happen in the next few hours because Nitish does not have many options and Amit Shah also has less options.
