Dhanbad: A strange case has come to light in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. Rats have been accused of destroying 10 kg of cannabis and 9 kg of ganja that were seized in a police station here. A lawyer associated with this case said on Sunday that the police gave information about the case to a court in the district.
Cannabis and ganja were seized 6 years ago
After the court directed the officer-in-charge of Rajganj police station to produce the cannabis and ganja seized six years ago, the police submitted a report to Principal District and Sessions Judge Ram Sharma on Saturday. The officer has said in his report that rats completely destroyed the drugs kept in the storeroom of the police station. The officer said that a case was registered in the police station in this regard.
Appeared in court on 6th April
Let us tell you that on December 14, 2018, Rajganj police seized 10 kg of cannabis and 9 kg of ganja and arrested Shambhu Prasad Aggarwal and his son. An FIR was also registered against him in the police station. During the hearing, the court had ordered the investigating officer of the case, Jaiprakash Prasad, to present the seized cannabis and ganja in the court on April 6.
Rats destroyed the seized material
Defense lawyer Abhay Bhatt in the case said that ”Shambhu Prasad Aggarwal appeared in the court on Saturday with the application of Rajganj police station in-charge, stating that rats destroyed all the seized material.” Advocate Abhay Bhatt said that it appeared that his client was implicated in false cases as the police was not able to produce the seized material.
