Although the Reserve Bank of India i.e. RBI decides how many coins and notes will be printed in the country, but this factory located in Mandoli area of Delhi has been busted by the police. Fake coins of Rs 20 have been recovered from this factory, whose value is Rs 1 lakh 70 thousand. Raw material used for making fake coins, incomplete goods and machines used for making coins have also been recovered in large quantities. In this matter, the Special Cell has registered a case under section 232/243/120B IPC.
According to the Special Cell, for the last few days, information was being received about an interstate racket involved in the circulation of fake Indian currency coins in the Delhi-NCR areas. Efforts were made to identify and trace the accused persons. During this period, on March 23, 2024, specific information was received through an informer about the movement of some suspicious persons, who are involved in minting and supply of fake Indian currency coins and supplying a large number of fake Indian currency coins. After this, a trap was laid in Burari area of Delhi and two people were caught from Uttarakhand Enclave Part II Burari. They have been identified as Sarvesh Yadav and Akash.
When police caught fake coins from a scooter
When the police team caught two people, fake Indian currency coins of Rs 20 worth Rs 1.60 lakh were recovered from them. It is being told that accused Akash had kept these coins in three white colored parcels on the front side of the scooter on which he was riding and gave them to his associate Sarvesh resident of Indore who was the receiver, but both of them were caught by the team. When the police opened the parcel found from the scooter, there were coins inside. These coins appeared to be genuine at first sight, but upon careful examination, the recovered coins worth Rs 20 appeared to be of lighter weight and shiny as compared to the genuine coins. Police have said that the national symbols on the recovered coins looked more clearly than the original coins.
What did the accused reveal?
During interrogation, Akash revealed that he along with his associates works to make and supply fake Indian currency coins. Till now he has supplied fake Indian coins worth about Rs 20 lakh to his contacts/people in different areas of Delhi/NCR and other states. During investigation, accused Akash also informed about the factory built by Akash for making fake Indian currency coins of Rs 20, which was running in Milan Garden, Mandoli Shahdara.
What did you get from the factory?
1. 500 fake Indian currency coins of Rs 20 denomination, totaling Rs 10,000.
2. Three colors were used to make fake Indian currency coins of Rs 20 value.
3. Two colors were used to make fake coins of Ayodhya Ram temple.
4. Two unused colors have also been recovered.
About 120 kg of raw material in the form of metal pieces and rings for making fake Indian currency coins worth Rs 5.20 has also been found.
6. About 80 kg of raw material in the form of metal pieces and rings for making fake coins of Ayodhya Ram temple has also been recovered.
7. A ‘fibre laser machine’ used to make the die of Indian currency coins worth Rs 20 has also been recovered.
8. A ’40 ton hydraulic press machine’ is used to print marks and designs on counterfeit coins.
9. A ’30 ton hydraulic press machine’ is used to cut metal sheets to make counterfeit coins.
10. A ‘Flench motor’ is used to drive a 30 ton hydraulic press machine.
