Faisal Patel, son of late Congress leader Ahmed Patel, tweeted on Wednesday that options being open meant he was thinking of saying goodbye to public life forever. He had indicated to leave the Congress in a post on Tuesday. During this he said that options are open to him. They are tired of waiting. There is no encouragement from the high command.
Faesal has now clarified his stand to say that all options are open. He tweeted on Wednesday, “Keeping my options open may mean that I am thinking of leaving public life forever. Tired of working and helping the poor and needy without any recognition. With this tweet, he also tagged the Congress party.
Earlier, 41-year-old Faisal told The Indian Express regarding Tuesday’s tweet, “I have expressed my feelings and I do not want to add more or less to it. I have said what I have said, I do not want to say anything else. It can be anything like leaving the party, leaving politics and joining business. whatever it may be.”
Naju Fadwala, a senior Congress leader from Bharuch and a close aide of Ahmed Patel, said, “We had a meeting with Faesal in the second week of March. He wanted to visit the areas under Bharuch Lok Sabha seat, which includes seven assembly seats Dediapara (Narmada district), Karjan (Baroda district) and Jambusar, Vagra, Bharuch, Ankleshwar and Jhagadia. We are shocked by Faisal’s tweet. We have spent our lives supporting Ahmed Patel and now his son. We are trying to get in touch with Faisal but he is not picking up the phone.”
On the rumors of Faesal joining the Aam Aadmi Party in the near future, Fadwala said, “I am sure these are all rumors and being promoted to malign his image. He will not join you. He will never leave the party.”
