The Gujarat government has decided to include Bhagavad Gita in the school curriculum. The debate is going on across the country regarding this decision of the Gujarat government. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia praised the decision and took a jibe at the BJP. Sisodia has said that BJP leaders should first study the Gita.
In fact, the Gujarat government on Thursday announced the inclusion of Gita in the syllabus for class 6 to class 12 students. Reacting to this decision, Sisodia also took a jibe at the BJP and appreciated the decision of the state government. Speaking to ANI, Sisodia said- “Surely it is a good step, but those who are bringing it first need to read and understand the values of Gita. His deeds are like that of Ravana and he is talking about Geeta.”
The decision of the state government to include Shrimad Bhagvad Gita in the school curriculum has been welcomed by the AAP as well as the Congress. Reacting to the move, Gujarat Congress spokesperson Hemang Rawal said- “We welcome the decision to include Shrimad Bhagavad Gita in the curriculum, but the Gujarat government also needs to learn from Shrimad Bhagavad Gita”.
On the other hand, after Gujarat, now Karnataka is also preparing to include Gita in the school curriculum. Karnataka Education Minister BC Nagesh on Friday said the Bhagavad Gita will be taught to school students under the subject of moral science after consultation with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Regarding this matter, Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar said that along with the Gita, lessons from Hindu epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata are already present in the school curriculum of the state. BJP is trying to glorify this matter.
