When the priest returned, the donation box was missing from the front of the idol. According to the priest, there must have been about 1 thousand rupees in the donation box.When the police examined the CCTV footage installed in the temple, they saw a youth coming in it. After coming inside, the young man first took pictures of the temple from the mobile. After this, he touched the feet of the Lord and then ran away with a quick donation box. One of his companions was also seen in the CCTV installed outside the temple.

Inspector Sanjay Dhumal of Naupada police station said that the investigation has been started on the basis of interrogation of people around the temple by the police. With the help of photographs extracted from CCTV footage, the local people got the identity of the accused. Which was very helpful. Based on interrogation, police had detained Kejas (18 years) and his friend Suraj Torane (21 years), a resident of Rabodi till evening and also recovered Rs 536 from them.
