The impact of the economic crises that emerged during the Corona period in Delhi is gradually reducing. Delhi’s income has increased compared to last year and the economy is also coming back on track. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia told in the budget speech that till February 2022, there has been an increase of 39 percent in the revenue collection of Delhi.
The government has claimed that due to technology and vigilance, the income of the government has increased and the government has been successful in preventing cases like tax evasion. Due to this, Delhi has earned Rs 35,112 crore from revenue. GST and VAT are important sources of income for the government. Due to this, the Delhi government has got Rs 24,379.03 crore as taxes, which is 41.90 percent more than in February 2021.
The government started monthly probes to increase taxes and ended the inspector raj. From April 2021 to February 2022, 156 surveys were conducted by the department. In this investigation, the agencies had ascertained the dues amounting to 38.76 crore, out of which 26.57 crore has been received.
Increase income through three sources
Will give discount in circle rates: Property business is a major source of income for the government. For this, discount on circle rates will be given on property purchase. In the budget, this exemption is proposed up to 20 percent.
Will bring forgiveness plan: The government will soon come up with an amnesty scheme to avoid the hassle of unnecessary tax related litigation in Delhi. This will help reduce the number of litigations.
4500 crore target from excise policy: The Delhi government has claimed in the budget that in the current financial year, the government is estimated to have an income of 4500 crores from this head.
