Sultanpur, Nov 16 (IANS) | Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give a unique gift in the form of Purvanchal Expressway on Tuesday. For this, Prime Minister Modi landed on the Purvanchal Expressway in Sultanpur from a Super Hercules C-130J aircraft. He will also address the public meeting after the launch of the express. During this, he was welcomed by Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi.In view of the program, officials of the government, administration, army and police are standing on the spot. PM Modi had laid the foundation stone of this expressway in July 2018. Even after the Korana period of 19 months, this 341 km long expressway has been completed in 36 months. This expressway will connect state capital Lucknow to eastern UP. This will benefit 9 districts of Eastern UP as well as the people of Bihar.

Before his arrival, officers of SPG squad from New Delhi have reached the venue. People have gathered here to see the Prime Minister and listen to his address. After the meeting of Prime Minister Modi will also show the thrilling feats of the fighter plane of the Indian Air Force on the air strip built on the Purvanchal Expressway here. A large number of people are gathering there from the areas around the venue. The roads connecting the Purvanchal Expressway are thronged with people and vehicles. Modi had earlier visited Sultanpur in 2014. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid its foundation stone in Azamgarh in July 2018. It is the longest expressway of Uttar Pradesh.
Emphasizing on the infrastructure facilities in the state, Yogi Adityanath government had announced the construction of Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway and Ganga Expressway in the state. Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone of Purvanchal Expressway at Azamgarh in July 2018. Vehicles will ply on the 340.824 km expressway from Lucknow to Ghazipur from Tuesday.With this Purvanchal Express, the distance of Purvanchal areas of UP from Delhi will be reduced. UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEDA) CEO Avnish Awasthi said that free land will be given for setting up battery charging stations on the expressway. Helipads will be built near every police post. At present, no toll tax will be levied on this.
