In Rajasthan, a doctor committed suicide after a case was registered against him for the death of a pregnant woman. The deceased woman was undergoing treatment with the accused Dr. Archana Sharma, but during this the situation deteriorated and the doctors failed to save her. For this, a case of negligent treatment was registered against Dr. Archana Sharma.
Hurt by this allegation, the doctor committed suicide. Doctor Archana Sharma said before dying that even if the patient dies without fault, what can he do? After the suicide of the doctor, the organization of private hospitals has come out in his support and is preparing for the movement.
The incident is from Dausa district of Rajasthan. According to the police, the pregnant woman died on Tuesday at the hospital run by Dr. Archana Sharma and her husband. An FIR was lodged against Archana at Lalsot police station after the family members of the pregnant woman demonstrated outside the hospital and demanded immediate action against the guilty doctor. After which Archana, who came under stress from the FIR, hanged herself.
A case was registered against the doctor for the death of a pregnant woman due to negligence in treatment. Additional SP Lal Chand Kayal said that on Tuesday afternoon, the doctor hanged himself at his residence above the hospital. He said that the matter is being investigated further.
Doctor Archana’s husband told that some blackmailers are involved in this incident. He said that after the death of the patient, the relatives had gone with the dead body, then later the accused Shankar Balya Joshi came to the hospital with that dead body and started creating a ruckus. During this they also threatened. The crowd was called by phone.
Now in this matter, the doctors’ organization FORDA has written a letter to the CM of Rajasthan. The letter demands proper investigation, immediate withdrawal of FIR and compensation to the family in the case of Dr. Archana’s suicide. Apart from this, the organization has decided to keep the investigation centers including all private hospitals closed on Wednesday.
