After the formation of Yogi 2.0 government in Uttar Pradesh, MLA from Kanpur Satish Mahana was unanimously elected on the post of Speaker of the Legislative Assembly today. During this, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav congratulated him. Along with it also taunted. He said that you have come from the right side (right wing), but you have to see you from the left (opposition) side also. On this, Satish Mahana also replied to him.
Akhilesh told the speaker, “Sometimes we will need you. A healthy democracy cannot run without you. Although you are from the right side, but you have to keep in mind the left. Now you have left you. Hope you are fair. They have left you by making you sit in that place. You will no longer look to the right. Now just look to the left.”
Akhilesh told the speaker, “You are the referee of the house, you will never be a part of the game, because you have come from the right. Leader of the House has spoken on Corona. When the time comes, I will talk about it too. That is not the time for debate. For now, just want to say that your protection will be needed from time to time. The more you give opportunity to the opposition, the stronger the democracy will be.”
Akhilesh further said, “You will have to take care that the elected government does not become a dictator. I came to know that you have come from traveling to about 35 countries. Speaker, Sir, I should have known this in advance. Responding immediately, Mahana said, “You didn’t try to find out earlier, did you?” Then Akhilesh said, “I am happy that the President has become such that we will not forget the people whenever we travel abroad. Do not do this that the right people should be taken away.
Congratulating Satish Mahana, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “Our scriptures inspire us for one thing that whenever we get an opportunity to become great, we should not be deprived of it. Don’t miss the opportunity to become great and Mahana is attached to your name. Naturally, to be seated on this proud seat of democracy is not only congratulatory for any member, but it is also proud. If an experienced member is selected by consensus on this bench, then it gives a very pleasant feeling. Especially when there was not much time in the assembly elections. Missiles were operating from both sides till the beginning of March.
CM Adityanath had proposed Mahana’s nomination for the post, which was supported by senior minister Suresh Khanna. Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav had also proposed Mahana’s name and his party’s Awadhesh Prasad supported it.
