Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has made a big attack on Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal regarding the sacrilege case. Sharing a video of an election-time press conference, former Punjab Congress President Sidhu said who is stopping him from taking action now.
In the video shared by Sidhu, Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal can be heard saying that action can be taken against those accused of sacrilege incidents within 24 hours. Then Kejriwal had said these things while targeting CM Charanjit Singh Channi.
In this, Kejriwal can then be heard saying that the people of Punjab were angered by the inaction over the sacrilege incidents in Faridkot of 2015. He had said- “The masterminds of the sacrilege incidents have not been punished so far. I don’t need to tell who are the masterminds? There are names in Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh’s report, and Channi sahib can go through it. The culprits can be arrested within 24 hours.”
Many Congress leaders have tweeted this video. Congress MLA Pargat Singh also shared the video clip and asked Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann that who is stopping them from taking action now?
Former IPS officer Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh was part of a special investigation team probing the 2015 Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan police firing incidents in Punjab. He joined Aam Aadmi Party last year and has been elected MLA from Amritsar North Assembly Constituency.
Incidents of sacrilege and subsequent police firing took place in Faridkot in 2015, when the Akali-BJP coalition government was in power in the state. AAP had targeted the previous Congress-led government for its inaction on this issue, but the AAP government is under question for not taking action even after several days of formation of the government.
