Following the anti-halal meat campaign in Karnataka, right-wing organizations led by Bajrang Dal and Shri Ram Sena have now demanded a ban on loudspeakers in mosques. State minister K Eshwarappa has said that the Muslim community should use speakers inside mosques, as loudspeakers disturb students and patients.
Eshwarappa said that he has no objection to the worship in the mosque, but rather the loudspeaker. If Hindus and Christians start doing the same thing as Muslims, then a dispute can arise. He said that Muslim religious leaders should look into this. However, he also said that it is better if the solution to this problem comes out after talking to the Muslims. It is wrong to play Hanuman Chalisa in loud voice to suppress the azaan of mosques. They believe that this will lead to disputes and animosity between the two communities will also increase.
It should be noted that Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has warned that he will play bhajans at 5 am in protest against the azaan being heard on loudspeakers in mosques. Raj Thackeray had on Saturday demanded the closure of loudspeakers in mosques. He had said in a rally organized at Shivaji Park in Mumbai that why loudspeakers are played in mosques at such a loud sound? If this is not stopped, then Hanuman Chalisa will be played on loudspeakers outside the mosques in a louder voice.
On the other hand, Shri Ram Sena convenor Pramod Muthalik issued a video message saying that Hindu organizations are demanding that loudspeakers installed in mosques should be banned and the Supreme Court order against noise pollution should be followed. He alleged that Shri Ram Sena had appealed to the administration in this regard. But nobody noticed him. Mutalik said that the government should instruct the mosque management not to use loudspeakers.
Mutalik said that the top court has also banned the use of loudspeakers from 10 pm to 6 am every day. He said that the order also states that loudspeakers should not be used in quiet areas around the school and hospital. But the mosque management is violating the order. If loudspeakers are not removed from mosques, they will play bhajans every morning.
