The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested a 19-year-old youth from Deoband in Saharanpur district. This youth was staying in a private hostel in Deoband. Haq is accused of planning to join a terrorist organization. According to the police, this youth is originally from Jharkhand and was living here for many years.
Anti-Terrorist Squad of UP Police has arrested 19-year-old youth Inamul Haque from a private hostel in Deoband. He was reportedly planning to join a terror outfit. Inamul Haque has been arrested on this allegation. According to the police, Inamul Haque was allegedly in contact with a Lashkar-e-Taiba member.
Regarding Inamul Haq, the ATS says that he was planning to go to Pakistan for arms training in a few days. Along with uploading videos on jihad, Inamul Haq used to promote / broadcast, so that other people could be encouraged to join it. Police said that the father of the arrested youth, Inamul, is a small businessman.
Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) ADG GK Goswami said that Inamul Haque is originally from Jharkhand. Here Inamul Haque was staying in the hostel for the last two years. However, he has not mentioned in which school or madrasa he is studying. ADG GK Goswami said that he (Inamul Haque) appears to be quite radical in nature.
According to the ATS, four SIM cards and one memory card have been recovered from Inamul Haque. However, we will confirm the details given by him during further investigation. At the same time, the police has also started action against two youths of Muzaffarnagar, Furqan Ali and Nabil Khan. ADG GK Goswami told that he has not given clean chit to Ali and Khan in the case.
According to the police, they had received information that some youths were planning to blast at various religious places in Deoband. Due to which this action was taken, the same ADG has also said that, we are investigating the role of all the people. Apart from this, a police officer said, “We came to know that Haq was also in contact with people from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh through different WhatsApp groups regarding jihad.”
