Patna. A day after the Chief Minister’s security was breached in Bihar’s Bakhtiyarpur, RJD leaders on Monday called on Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) S.K. demanded the dismissal of Singhal. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA Lalit Yadav raised the issue of security lapse in the Assembly on Monday. He said that if the Chief Minister is not safe in the state, then how can we expect that the common people of the state will be safe.
Yadav said, “This is a serious security lapse. The security of our chief minister has been completely compromised. If we don’t protect our chief minister, what will be the relevance of the special branch and the DGP. So, we asked the Director General of Police.” Demanded the sacking of Sanjeev Kumar Singhal.”
After their argument in the assembly, Speaker Vijay Sinha also expressed concern over the lapse. He asked Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad to inform the House about the incident.
Prasad also expressed concern over the incident and said that the incident is very painful. He said that the state government was analyzing the situation and taking measures to avoid recurrence of such incidents in future.
However, the opposition leaders were not satisfied with the Deputy Chief Minister’s reply and raised slogans.
On Saturday, mentally challenged person Shankar Kumar Verma alias Chhotu breached the security and went upstairs where Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was paying homage to the statue of great freedom fighter and social activist Pandit Sheel Bhadra Yaji in Bakhtiyarpur market.
Verma punched Nitish Kumar from behind. After which the security personnel immediately caught him and took him into custody.
The chief minister, however, asked the security personnel not to take action against him. He also asked the security personnel to solve his problem and also to get him treated.
Meanwhile the merchants of Bakhtiyarpur decided to shut down the city. Wearing black ribbons, he also took out a protest march in the market to show respect to the Chief Minister.
