New Delhi. The Supreme Court has today granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, arrested in a money laundering case related to the Delhi Liquor Policy Scam case, after almost 6 months. A bench headed by Justice Sanjeev Khanna has given this decision. The ED had not raised any objection to his release. However, despite getting bail, Sanjay Singh will not be able to come out of jail tonight. His lawyer has given the reason why this is so.
Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh’s lawyer Hrishikesh Kumar, while explaining the reason for his not coming out of jail today, said that we wanted him to be released today but the process has not been completed yet. The Supreme Court order related to bail has not been uploaded yet. That order needs to be presented in the court. He will be released after paying the bail in the morning.
According to the process mentioned by Sanjay Singh’s lawyer, the order copy will go to Kaveri Baweja’s court in Rouse Avenue Court, Delhi, where the hearing of this case is going on. It is here that the release order will be submitted and the bail bond will be created. From here the order will be prepared and will go to Tihar Jail Superintendent. He will be released from jail tomorrow after the release process in Tihar Jail. Let us tell you that today the Supreme Court has accepted the bail application of Sanjay Singh. There was no opposition to the bail application from the ED. Due to which the Supreme Court approved the bail. However, the Supreme Court has asked to approach the lower court for the bail conditions. The Supreme Court says that the conditions of bail will be decided by the lower court.
