New Delhi: Late on Saturday evening, former Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik was thoroughly questioned by CBI officials. The inquiry was conducted by officials at the CBI headquarters in the capital. Earlier, Satya Pal Malik had alleged that a bribe of Rs 300 crore was offered to him to clear two files when he was serving as the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
Now the CBI has started questioning him in the same case. It has been learned from quoting sources that Satyapal Malik had come to attend a function in the state, during which he had said, ‘I had gone to the Prime Minister for two matters of Srinagar. Both were wrong, cancelled. I was offered a bribe of Rs.150 crore. I don’t want anything. Came in five kurtas and pajamas, I will go in that one.
According to the information, the program in which Satyapal Malik attended was held on October 17 last year in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. In this program, Satya Pal Malik had claimed that when he was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, two files had come to him. One of these files belonged to Ambani. The second was of a person belonging to the RSS who was a minister in the previous Mehbooba Mufti government. This government was formed in alliance with BJP. This person was close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They found out that there was a scam in them. Hence, he dismissed both the cases. He was offered a bribe of Rs 150-150 crore to clear both the files. The secretaries told him about this offer.
