Pakistani journalist asked the question
Pakistan’s senior journalist Kamran Khan tweeted a photo of the four NSAs. Along with this, he has also asked a big question. Kamran wrote, ‘Whatever happened on Sunday is a big development. It is surprising whether Pakistan has any such counter or alliance strategy? Kamran said that US NSA Jake Sullivan met Saudi Crown Prince MBS, UAE NSA Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan and India’s NSA Ajit Doval yesterday in Saudi Arabia.
The purpose of this meeting is to further advance the region of a more secure and prosperous Middle East. Kamran said that the Middle East is the region which is connected to India and the rest of the world. Sullivan has also held bilateral meetings with the Crown Prince, Sheikh Tahnoon and Doval in which regional matters have also been discussed.
There will be a meeting again in Australia
This is the first meeting between Doval and Sullivan after the launch of the ambitious India US ICET (Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies) dialogue in January. Sullivan is currently on a trip to Saudi Arabia. Sunday’s meeting was told by the White House that Sullivan emphasized promoting a shared vision of a prosperous and more secure West Asia connected with India and the world. The White House said Sullivan looked forward to further discussions with Doval on the sidelines of the Quad summit in Australia later this month.
what were the issues discussed
The official Saudi Press Agency confirmed the meeting between Jake Sullivan and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah. The state news agency reported only that the two leaders reviewed the “strategic relationship” at the meeting, which was attended by other US officials. Following the 2018 murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, US President Joe Biden pledged to “isolate” Saudi Arabia in his election campaign. US intelligence agencies believe the assassination was ordered by the crown prince, but Saudi Arabia denies this.
