Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has said that he does not like to bowl to Cheteshwar Pujara in the nets. Shami has also given the reason for this. He has said that Pujara keeps practicing in the nets till he has played 100-200 balls. That’s why Shami doesn’t want him to practice. Shami, 31, has been playing for India for almost nine years. He has played 57 Tests, 71 ODIs and 17 T20 matches for Team India so far.
Shami jokingly said in a conversation with The Indian Express, “We are professionals, likes and dislikes do not matter here. BCCI gives you so much money, you enjoy bowling, but no one can you like Cheteshwar Pujara. Can’t bother. Everyone knows they don’t go to sleep until they have played 100 to 200 balls.”
Pujara will not play in the series against Sri Lanka
Cheteshwar Pujara, 34, has been dropped from the Indian team. His performance in the last few years was poor and he was struggling to score runs. In such a situation, BCCI wants players like Pujara to score runs in domestic cricket and then return to the national team. Along with Pujara, Rahane has also been dropped from the Indian team and he is also playing Ranji cricket.
Pujara has played 95 Tests for India so far and has scored 6713 runs at an average of 43.88. This includes three double centuries, 18 centuries and 32 half-centuries.
Shami was surprised to see Bumrah for the first time
Shami said that when he saw Jasprit Bumrah bowling for the first time, he was surprised. He did not understand how a player could get so much speed with such action. Shami saw Bumrah for the first time in IPL. By the time he came to the Indian team, Shami was getting to know him. He now wants to learn to bowl yorkers from Bumrah. According to Shami, Bumrah’s yorker ball is very accurate and he wants his yorker to be as accurate as Bumrah. Shami and Bumrah together have won many matches for India.
