24 year old Shamar Joseph made dream debut against Australia

New Delhi, West Indies’ young fast bowler Shamar Joseph started his Test career against Australia in Adelaide. Joseph’s test debut was explosive. The journey of this 24-year-old pacer to reach international cricket is similar to that of India’s new finisher Rinku Singh. Both of them have struggled a lot to reach here. Joseph became an overnight star by sending the legendary batsman Steve Smith to the pavilion on the very first ball of the first Test over of his career. He showed his hands in batting before bowling. Before bowling, Shamar came at number 11 and played a quick inning of 36 runs with the bat. On the basis of this innings of Joseph, the West Indies team was successful in reaching a respectable score in the first innings.
Three players made their debut for the West Indies (AUS vs WI) in the Adelaide Test against Australia. Shamar Joseph came out to bat when the West Indies team had lost 9 wickets for 133 runs. After this, Shamar Joseph along with experienced fast bowler Kemar Roach made a partnership of 55 runs and took the score of West Indies to 188. Shamar played an inning of 36 runs which included 3 fours and a six. Shamar Joseph spoiled the start of Smith’s opening. Smith came out to open for the first time in the Test. After Smith, Joseph also sent Marnus Labuschagne to the pavilion with an excellent bouncer. By the end of the second day’s play, Australia had scored 59 runs for 2 wickets.

Shamra Joseph once worked as a bodyguard. But first love forced him to leave his job as a bodyguard. Joseph was fond of cricket from the beginning. He has 8 brothers and sisters. He used to work as a bodyguard to support his family. Shamar, who started his professional cricket career at the age of 23, made his debut in international cricket only after a year.
To reach the village one has to cross the river
To reach his village i.e. Barakara in Guyana, Shamar Joseph has to cover a distance of 225 kilometers by boat in the Cange River. It takes them two days to reach the village by boat. Till 2018, there was not even telephone facility in his village. Overcoming all these challenges, Shamrah has reached international cricket today. The way this bowler has started, his future looks bright.
