Pakistan warned
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has expressed displeasure over Braverman’s statement. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mumtaz Zahara Baloch said, ‘Such comments will encourage a dangerous habit.’ Braverman is known for his tough stance on immigration. Braverman was also warned by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) that perpetrators of sexual abuse do not just come from ‘one background’. It would be foolish to think of child abuse simply by focusing on race.
what was braverman’s statement
Braverman said that almost all of the individuals in the group who commit such crimes are British-Pakistani. The authorities have turned a blind eye to these crimes due to political policies adopted while being extremely careful not to offend any section of society and for fear of being labeled as racist and bigoted. Braverman told Sky News, It has been observed that white girls are sometimes in difficult circumstances when they are raped, drugged and harmed by groups of British Pakistani men involved in pedophilia gangs or networks.’
PM Sunak said this
On the other hand, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak condemned the political attitude of preventing action against the perpetrators of sexual abuse of children and girls. Also, he introduced plans for a new task force to crack down on such gangs. “The safety of women and girls is paramount,” Sunak said in a statement ahead of his tour of Leeds and Manchester ahead of introducing the new workforce.
