In fact, before a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana, senior advocate AM Dar mentioned the matter of students stranded in Ukraine. The lawyer said that a fresh petition has been filed regarding the evacuation of Indians from the Ukraine-Romania border. The lawyer said that most of the trapped people are girls.

To which lawyer Dar said that Indian students are in very difficult conditions on the border of Romania. It is extremely cold there. Most are girls. They have been stuck on the Ukrainian border without food for almost six days. On this the Chief Justice asked the lawyer to wait. She said that she would seek the assistance of Attorney General KK Venugopal in this regard. The Chief Justice said that our sympathies are with him. We will ask the Attorney General to assist us.
Later, when the Attorney General was appearing in another case, the Chief Justice apprised the Attorney General about the matter and asked him to provide necessary help. The Attorney General asked whether the students in respect of whom the petition has been filed. They have crossed the border of Ukraine? Then senior advocate AM Dar, appearing for the petitioners, said that they have not crossed.
The AG said that the Indian government has sent a minister to Romania to ensure that they come back after crossing the Ukrainian border. So I want to know what is the problem. Dar said that they have not crossed yet. Where they are is in Ukraine. They weren’t allowed to travel, that’s the problem. The Chief Justice then asked Advocate Dar to hand over the copy of the petition to the Attorney General. He told the attorney general that please see what you can do to help.
