After the discussion in the media for the last few days regarding the long pending executive election in the Federation of Textile Traders Association, the largest organization of textile traders in Surat, the present office bearers have become somewhat active. Important things have been shared in this regard in a press release issued by FOSTA President Manoj Aggarwal and General Secretary Champalal Bothra.
A joint meeting of FOSTA office bearers and advisory board members was held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at the JJ Markets Board Room, FOSTA’s release said. It has been decided in the meeting that FOSTA Core Committee-2022 will be formed by adding the name of one representative each from all the market members of the textile market. This committee will decide the necessary guidelines after discussing and deliberating on the organization of FOSTA, the issues related to representation of markets of all extents, electoral process etc.
It has also been said in the release that FOSTA has also started soliciting names from the markets for the Core Committee 2022 and about 70% of the markets have sent the names of their representatives. The process of getting the names of the remaining names is going on soon.
The release has condemned the developments, saying that personal interest is behind various information being circulated in the media related to Fosta in the past. The release targeted the campaign being run by the former president without naming anyone. Clearly Fosta is targeting former president Tarachand Kasat, who has been active for the past few days to hold Fosta’s election. However, in the release from FOSTA, it has been said that the former chairman has not been a member of any market for the last ten years and is also not a member of FOSTA.
Well, it is to be expected that the positive approach adopted by the leaders of FOSTA with the formation of the core committee will reach its end and democracy will be restored in this biggest business organization of the city and the organization will come with new strength and energy. Will work for the interests of textile traders.
