A big news is coming out from Kolkata. Here Swami Smarananand died on Tuesday night at the age of 95. The President of Ramakrishna Mission has passed away due to old age related ailments. He became the 16th president of Ramakrishna Mission in 2017, RK Mission said in a statement. According to the information, Swami was suffering from urine related problem for several days, which was undergoing treatment.
Math gave information
The statement further said, “His Holiness the President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Shrimat Swami Smarananandji Maharaj attained Mahasamadhi at 8.14 pm today.” Swamy was admitted to Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan on January 29 due to urinary infection. Later he started having trouble breathing, due to which he was put on ventilator on March 3.

Paying tribute on the occasion, PM Modi wrote that Shrimat Swami Smarananand Ji Maharaj, revered president of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, dedicated his life to spirituality and service. ‘I have had a close relationship for years’
I have had a very close relationship with him over the years. I remember my visit to Belur Math in 2020 when I interacted with him. A few weeks ago, I also went to the hospital in Kolkata to inquire about his health. My thoughts are with the countless devotees of Belur Math, Shanti.

While paying tribute, BJP MLA Shubhendu Adhikari posted on X that it is said in Bhagavad Geeta that the soul is neither born nor dies. Deeply saddened by the demise of Shrimat Swami Smarananand Ji Maharaj, President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission.
