Purnia (Bihar). Congress leader Pappu Yadav, who is contesting as an independent from Bihar’s Purnia Lok Sabha seat, on Tuesday targeted RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and said that he does not have the ‘patience’ like his father Lalu Prasad. Pappu Yadav made this comment when reporters drew his attention towards Tejashwi Yadav’s speeches. RJD candidate Tejashwi is campaigning vigorously for Bima Bharti in Purnia.
Currently, Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Santosh Kushwaha is the MP from Purnia seat. Pappu Yadav has won this seat thrice in the 1990s, now he is considered a major contender despite contesting as an independent. Tejashwi Yadav said in the rally organized on Monday, “The election has to be between ‘India’ alliance and NDA. If you do not support Bima Bharti (RJD candidate), it will be assumed that you are with NDA.”
A video clip of Tejashwi’s comment has gone viral. Political commentators are seeing this statement as a sign of frustration on the part of Tejashwi Yadav, who is said to have played a key role in thwarting Pappu Yadav’s bid to contest elections from Purnia as the ‘India’ alliance candidate. Played.
Pappu Yadav said, “Why does he become so impatient? “It seems that he has not inherited patience from his father.” He said, “I am not worried. I take inspiration from an old proverb, in which a sage was unaffected by the sting of a scorpion.”
Pappu Yadav ignored the question on whether he felt Tejashwi Yadav had accepted the defeat of Bharti, who had recently left JDU and joined RJD. However, he was enraged by the repeated allegations leveled against him regarding being the ‘B Team’ of BJP.
Pappu Yadav said sarcastically, “I am a common man and cannot comment on a king or a prince.” He said, “But what is this B team thing? Will he apply the same label to all those senior RJD leaders who have recently left the party?” He said that he is contesting the elections on behalf of ‘India’ alliance.
Pappu Yadav said, “The people of Purnia will create history on the voting day on 26th April. After this, I will campaign for the ‘India’ alliance at many places including Amethi and Rae Bareli.” Pappu Yadav said that he won Madhepura seat twice on RJD ticket. He asked, “Was I still the B team of BJP at that time? Is Kanhaiya Kumar also the B team of BJP?
Kanhaiya Kumar, former president of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union, is seen as a potential rival to RJD’s successor Tejashwi Yadav and that is why the party had fielded a candidate against him from the Begusarai seat in 2019. Kanhaiya had contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections on the Communist Party of India ticket.
Pappu Yadav indicated that he will campaign for Hina Shahab, wife of Siwan’s strongman late Mohammad Shahabuddin. RJD has not given ticket to Hina this time, but has not yet fielded its candidate from Siwan.
