Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Quad Summit on Thursday. US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida also made their presence felt in this virtual summit.
The meeting reviewed the issues decided in the Quad Summit held in September 2021. During this, the leaders of the four countries should work towards achieving concrete results and intensify mutual cooperation before the summit in Japan later this year.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the Quad should focus on its core objective of promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. He called for concrete and practical steps of cooperation in areas such as humanitarian and disaster relief, credit stability, supply chain, clean energy, connectivity and capacity building.
Ukraine issue was also discussed in the meeting. During this, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the need to return to the path of dialogue and diplomacy. He said that every issue can be resolved through dialogue. In such a situation, we should leave the path of violence and end the crisis through dialogue and diplomacy.
