Srinagar. In a major development, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday began the process of attaching immovable properties that were used to harbor terrorists or where a conspiracy to attack security forces and civilians was hatched. Srinagar Police posted on its official Twitter handle, “Process for attachment of certain immovable properties has begun, which have been used for the purpose of extremism as per Section 2(g) and 25 of the ULP Act. Extremists/Allies Do not give shelter or shelter. The property will be attached as a legal action.”
Srinagar SSP Rakesh Balwal told some journalists that the houses where the encounter took place and the houses where terrorists had taken shelter and planned attacks on security forces and civilians would be attached.
“During 2020-2021, more than a dozen houses have been identified in Downtown, Soura, Pantha Chowk, Batamaloo, Nowgam, Harvan etc,” he said.
The process of attachment of such properties is being initiated from Srinagar district of the Valley.
