In order to prevent drowning of the housing colony being built under the urban PM Awas Yojana on the banks of Wainganga river, a security cover has to be made to prevent the passage of flood water. The plan to build a security wall along the river has been approved. A retaining wall will be built on the banks of the Wainganga river at a cost of two crore 90 lakhs. This will create an environment of security among the beneficiaries taking accommodation in PM Awas Colony. In this colony, which is submerged due to continuous flooding in the river, the way of flood water will be stopped by constructing a retaining wall on the banks of the river for safety. Keeping in mind the security reasons, the government has given approval for this.
Except for the last year, this colony was submerged continuously for two years in the past due to the flood water coming in Wainganga river. In this, the first floor was submerged by the floods coming in the river during the rainy days. To block the way, the municipality planned to build a retaining wall and sent a proposal to the government eight months ago for approval. Considering the need for a housing colony, the government has approved it. The municipality has started action to get the construction done soon.

Allotment process will start
The municipality is about to start the process of allotment of houses being built in the housing colony from EWS units. 36 houses will be allotted in the first phase.
