Bhopal . Closeness to a big leader in politics and his patronage is a special qualification. However, for Arun Yadav, the former state president of Madhya Pradesh, closeness to the big leader i.e. Rahul Gandhi has become harmful. They have been neglected in state politics and efforts are on to undermine their influence. The Congress is passing through a phase of crisis right from the national level to the state level. On the one hand, where defeat is coming in his account, on the other hand the workers and leaders are sitting at home in despair. This is directly affecting the ground position of the party.
Talking about Madhya Pradesh, former State President and former Union Minister Arun Yadav is a big face of backward class in the politics of the state. His closeness to Rahul Gandhi is not hidden from anyone, but these days his stars are in the dark. Efforts are being made to reduce their influence in many ways and many big leaders are involved in this.
Looking at the activities going on within the Congress in the state, it is clearly visible that all is not well in the party. Recently, the party organized a backward class convention in Bhopal, in which Arun Yadav was not even invited. In the same Khandwa Lok Sabha elections, he refused to contest in view of the party’s non-cooperative stand. The issue of OBC is hot in the state, but the party is hesitant to put forward the face of OBC.
Arun Yadav’s father Subhash Yadav has been the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. His younger brother Sachin Yadav has been a minister in Kamal Nath’s government and is currently an MLA. While this family has a hold in the field of cooperatives, they have also played an important role in agricultural movements. Also, he comes from OBC category, so the party can make better use of him but this is not happening.
The leaders associated with the Congress party say that Arun Yadav is being sidelined under a well-thought-out strategy. He recalls that when Yadav was the state president, he had toured almost every part of the state and worked for the party’s strength. It is a different matter that before the 2018 assembly elections, the command of the party was handed over to Kamal Nath. At present, some party leaders are targeting those leaders who are close to Rahul Gandhi, including former ministers Umang Singar and Jitu Patwari, who are not being given importance in the party.
Arun Yadav is also sad and worried about the current situation of the party and he had made a tweet last day, taking a jibe at the leaders fighting for the chair, which has created panic in the political circles.
