shimron hetmyer
Rajasthan Royals team has suffered a crushing defeat in the second qualifier match played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. With the defeat in this match, Rajasthan Royals’ journey in IPL 2024 has come to an end. Meanwhile, after the match, a player of Rajasthan Royals has suffered double loss. This player is none other than Rajasthan Royals’ foreign player Shimron Hetmyer. Shimron Hetmyer has been fined 10 percent of the match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during Qualifier 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
He said this in his statement in IPL
IPL said in a statement that Rajasthan Royals’ Shimron Hetmyer has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during the Indian Premier League 2024 Qualifier 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 24. Hetmyer has committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. He admitted the offence and accepted the match referee’s sanction. The match referee’s decision for a Level 1 breach of the Code of Conduct is final and binding.
Although it is not clear in the statement why this West Indies player has been fined, it is possible that this fine has been imposed due to his sudden outburst on the playing field after being out. On the fourth ball of the 14th over, Hetmyer lost his composure on Abhishek Sharma’s ball and after being out, he hit the stumps with his bat. Hetmyer could not understand Abhishek’s ball. His ball became straight after pitching and Hetmyer tried to play inside the line of the ball, as he expected the ball to come in, but it could not happen.
RR had hopes from these two batsmen
Rajasthan Royals expected a big innings from Hetmyer against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, but he failed to do so. The left-handed batsman played 10 balls while at the crease and could score only four runs. In this match, Hetmyer’s compatriot Rovman Powell also could not do anything special. The West Indies captain played 12 balls and scored only six runs. The wickets of these two players were the biggest turning point of this match.
