Uttarakhand Election Result 2022: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday won the Uttarakhand assembly elections with a majority. However, the current CM Pushkar Dhami has lost the election from Khatima seat. Now in such a situation, the question arises that who will be the CM face of BJP in the state. According to the report of ABP News, Dhan Singh Rawat, Satpal Maharaj and Trivendra Singh Rawat are in the race for the post of CM in Uttarakhand. Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi is also in the fray. BJP has won 47 seats out of total 70 seats in Uttarakhand. A single party needs 36 seats to form the government in the state. Congress has won 13 seats and was ahead in 6 seats. Harish Rawat, a senior Congress leader and considered in the race for the post of Chief Minister, had to face defeat from BJP candidate Mohan Singh Bisht from Lalkuan seat.
With the victory of BJP, Bhuvan Kapri of Congress surprised political pundits by defeating Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in Khatima assembly seat of Uttarakhand. SS Kler of AAP and Ramesh Rana of BSP, with a total of 1 lakh 13 thousand votes in VVIP Khatima assembly, tracked 28 thousand votes of Tharu tribe, but those votes were also seen by Congress’s Bhuvan. Kler had expected that he would get at least five thousand and BSP’s Rana would also get five thousand votes, but Kler got 749 votes and BSP’s Ramesh Rana got only 920 votes.
BJP going to form second consecutive government in Uttarakhand
In the history of Uttarakhand which came into existence in the year 2000, no party has formed the government for two consecutive times, BJP and Congress have been coming to power alternately. Now BJP is going to create history here. Despite being the chief minister’s face, Dhami was given a tough fight by the Congress. In order to reap the Congress votes, the AIMIM candidate had tried hard to dent Muslim votes, but all efforts went in vain as almost all Muslim votes went to Congress.
