Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has hit out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, alleging that illegal sand mining continues unabated in the state. Attacking Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, Sidhu said, “What happened to your promise? When it was said before the elections that illegal sand mining would be stopped after the Aam Aadmi Party government came to power.” .
Former Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday said, “The cost of a trolley sand which was Rs 4,000 a month ago has increased to Rs 9,000 and it has become out of reach of common man. So the construction work has stopped.
Sidhu tagged Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and tweeted, “Illegal mining is going on unabated. What is the government doing? Arvind Kejriwal ji, where is 20 thousand crore rupees from sand?
Sidhu, who lost the Amritsar East seat in the recently held assembly elections, also shared a video clip purportedly showing illegal sand mining.
Sidhu was actually referring to the allegation made by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal last year. In which Kejriwal had claimed that illegal sand mining, estimated to be worth Rs 20 thousand crore, is taking place in the then Congress-ruled Punjab.
Kejriwal had also said that after coming to power in Punjab, his party would stop illegal sand mining and “the money would be given to women”. Where was it?
