Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India. India has explained this to China many times but China is not ready to accept it. Meanwhile, America has also supported India on this matter and has considered Arunachal as a part of India. In such a situation, China has not liked this attitude of America and has criticized America. China has accused America of provocation and said that America has a history of instigating disputes.
What is the whole matter?
America had supported India on the issue of Arunachal Pradesh on March 9. US State Department Chief Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel had said that the US recognizes Arunachal Pradesh as Indian territory. Patel had said that we strongly oppose any unilateral attempt to make territorial claims through military or civilian intrusion or transgression along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
What did China say?
China’s Defense Ministry spokesperson Colonel Wu Qian has alleged that America has a history of provoking disputes between the two countries for its own benefit. Wu Qian said that China and India have mature mechanisms and communication channels on border issues. He said both sides have the capacity and willingness to properly handle the border issue through dialogue and consultation. Wu again gave a controversial statement saying that Arunachal Pradesh is a part of China.
Arunachal Pradesh was, is and will always be India’s
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Jaiswal said in clear words on Thursday that our stand on the issue of Arunachal Pradesh has been made very clear many times. Recently we have also issued a statement in this regard. No matter how much China repeats its ‘baseless claims’, it is not going to change our stance. Arunachal Pradesh was, is and will always be an integral and inseparable part of India.
