Who made this Ramayana?
Subramaniam Lakshminarayanan and his wife Saraswati had made up their mind for a long time to offer the gold-lettered Ramayana to Sri Ram Lalla. His resolution soon gave it a concrete shape. Both of them got Ramayana written on copper plates with gold letters. The couple contacted the people of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust several times. Seeing that things were not working out, he contacted Champat Rai, General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and the matter was resolved. He also requested Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Trust, to deliver the Ramayana written on copper plate to the sanctum sanctorum on the first day of Navratri and dedicate it at the feet of Shri Ramlala, which was accepted.

Who is Subramaniam Lakshminarayanan?
According to Pixstory.com, 1970 batch IAS officer Subramaniam Lakshminarayanan had decided to donate all his money to make the Swarna Ramayana to the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Trust. In fact, he comes from a family of bureaucrats dedicated to God. His father L Subramaniam was also an IAS officer and had been Secretary to the Government of India. Her mother named her Lakshmi Narayan, who considered her a blessing from Lord Lakshmi Narayan of the Birla Temple in Delhi.
Lakshminarayanan is very religious
“Subramaniam Lakshminarayanan’s colleagues and friends in Madhya Pradesh know him as a devout and highly religious person,” says 1964 batch IAS KS Sharma. He was a disciple of Shankaracharya Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamigal of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham and his successor Swami Jayendra Saraswati. Whenever Shankaracharya came to Bhopal, Lakshminarayanan was in his service. He often visited his residence, where I also met Shankaracharya.” In 1996-1998, when KS Sharma was the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh, Lakshminarayanan was the Principal Secretary of the Mining Department. KS Sharma recalled, “He used to be a very efficient and honest officer.”

Former IS officer Subramaniam Lakshminarayanan, resident of Chennai, has prepared a special gold-studded Ramayana from his life’s earnings and dedicated it at the feet of Lord Rama. On the first day of Chaitra Navratri, Lakshminarayan along with his wife presented the Ramayana Ram temple made of gold. Where that Ramayana has also been worshiped in the Ram temple premises as per the rituals. It is manufactured by the famous Boommandi Bangaru Jewelers of Chennai.

Every page coated with 24 carat gold
The gold Ramayana has been kept on a stone pedestal 15 feet away from the idol of Ramlala in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. On its top is the Pattabhishek of Ram made of silver. The weight of Ramayana is more than 1.5 quintals. Made of copper, each page is 14 by 12 inches. Every page is plated with 24 carat gold. Verses from Ram Charit Manas are inscribed on them. Ramayana has 10,902 verses on 500 pages. A 12 inch 3 kg copper plate of 14 gauge has also been used on each page. 151 kg copper and three to four kg gold have been used in making it.

Temple priest Santosh Kumar Tiwari told that the Golden Ramayana has been installed near Ram Lala in the sanctum sanctorum. Now, along with the darshan and worship, Ram devotees will also be able to see the unique gold Ramayana in the Ram temple. After the enthronement of Shri Ram Lala, lakhs of Ram devotees from all over the country and the world are reaching Ayodhya and dedicating some unique thing to Lord Ram.
