New Delhi. Since India’s independence, the situation in Kashmir has not been very good, there has often been unrest in the valley due to the nefarious activities of neighboring Pakistan. Due to this, Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their homes and migrate. The families of these Kashmiri Pandits have achieved many achievements despite many challenges across the world. One of them is Arhaan Bagati. Adding another feather to his cap, Arhaan Bagati, Founder of Kashmir Yamborzal Applied Research Institute (KYARI) has been awarded acceptance letters from some of the most prestigious institutions of the world including Harvard and Stanford for his Master’s degree in Public Policies. Arhaan, hailing from a distinguished Kashmiri Pandit lineage who left the valley several years ago, has returned to his ancestral home in Srinagar to reconnect with his heritage.

Since admission to Harvard and Stanford requires a rigorous selection process, Arhaan’s latest achievement is a proud moment for J&K. Arhaan now believes that this education will equip him with the necessary knowledge and skills to tackle complex policy challenges and advocate for meaningful change, which will ultimately have a positive impact on the lives of people in Kashmir.
He was born and brought up in Delhi, but his grandfather, a former soldier, was from Bulbul Lankar. He was a genius since his school days and received his education in the United States, where he also completed his thesis. He has been living in Kashmir for the last few years. It was his wish to remain connected to his roots. Arhaan says, “Through my master’s degree in public policy, I now aim to build on the work I have been doing for the last 2.5 years. I hope that my achievements send a powerful message that we, the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, are not just stakeholders but leaders in the global discussion on social and political change.”
After completing his International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), Arhaan pursued a Liberal Arts Education with major in Politics (specializing in Comparative Politics) and Asian Studies (focusing on India) from Pomona College, USA. Received. Relevantly, Arhaan served as India’s first Deputy Chef de Mission for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, the youngest in the world and for the Indian Paralympic team. He also co-hosted the inaugural ‘Kumaon Literature Festival’ in the valley in 2022. Arhaan is also the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) ambassador for awareness and advocacy.
