Patna. The second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 in Bihar is being considered no less than a litmus test for Chief Minister and JDU National President Nitish Kumar. JDU candidates are in the fray from NDA in the elections to be held in Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Bhagalpur and Banka of East Bihar and Seemanchal. JDU President and other leaders are also trying their best to ensure their victory. Here, the Grand Alliance is also leaving no stone unturned regarding these seats.
JDU has again fielded outgoing MP Ajay Kumar Mandal from Bhagalpur, Dulal Goswami from Katihar, Santosh Kushwaha from Purnia and Giridhari Yadav from Banka. However, JDU has changed its face from Kishanganj, a Muslim dominated area.
In the last elections, Kishanganj was the only seat where NDA had to face defeat. There Congress candidate Mohammad Javed defeated JDU’s Mahmood Ashraf. JDU has placed its bet on Mujahid Alam from Kishanganj in this election. Nitish has his eyes fixed on these seats. Nitish is continuously visiting these areas. It is being told that Nitish’s special people are camping in these areas.
Talking about the grand alliance, Congress has once again fielded Mohammad Javed from Kishanganj, while Tariq Anwar is in the fray from Katihar. Bhagalpur has also gone to Congress quota from where Ajit Sharma is in the arena. RJD’s Jai Prakash Yadav is in the fray from Banka, while RJD’s Bima Bharti is in the fray from Purnia.
The importance of these seats for Congress can be gauged from the fact that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has held an election rally in Bhagalpur, while party president Mallikarjun Kharge has held election rallies in Katihar and Kishanganj and sought votes for his candidate. Have done. However, the second phase of elections is very important for both the alliances. Now it remains to be seen which alliance the people will support.
