England has announced its 12-man squad for the first test match against West Indies. Fast bowler Olly Robinson did not find a place in the squad led by Joe Root. Robinson hasn’t recovered from his back pain, so he hasn’t got a chance here. New bowler Shakib Mahmood has been included in his place.
The 28-year-old Robinson suffered a hamstring strain during a warm-up match against Cricket West Indies President’s XI. He could not even participate in the practice session. The playing XI will be announced at the time of toss.
The first Test match will be played between the two teams at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua from Tuesday. The England team will play three matches in the series here. Earlier, the Caribbean team had won the five-match T20 series.
