Women’s World Cup to be played in Round Robin format
In the Women’s World Cup 2022, 28 matches of the group stage will be played in a round robin format, in which each team will play each other once. After this, the four teams with the most points will play in the semi-finals. For winning a match, the team will get two points, while if the match is tied or inconclusive, both the teams will get one point each. All matches of the tournament will be played in the six New Zealand cities of Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Wellington and Tauranga.
World champion will get Rs 10 crore
This time around the world winning team will get around Rs 10 crore (US$ 1.32 million), which is more than double what the champion team got during the 2017 World Cup. An amount of about Rs 26 crore will be distributed among the eight teams participating in the tournament, which is Rs 11 crore more than last time. This time the runner up team will also get Rs 4.51 crore.
