The motion of no confidence moved was rejected. The Deputy Speaker called this no-confidence motion against the Constitution and the rules of Pakistan. The proceedings of the National Assembly have been adjourned till April 25 after the no-confidence motion was rejected. After this, while addressing the country, Imran Khan said that the people of Pakistan are happy with the decision of the Deputy Speaker. Imran Khan had recommended the dissolution of the assembly to the President, which has been accepted.
Political developments in Pakistan have changed rapidly. Shortly after Imran Khan’s address to the country, the President dissolved Parliament, after which general elections could be held in Pakistan before the scheduled time.
At the same time, after the no-confidence motion was rejected, Imran Khan while addressing the country said, “I have sent advice to the President to dissolve the assemblies. There are elections and people decide who they want. Let no conspiracy from outside and such corrupt people decide the fate of this country.”
Talking about going to the general elections ahead of time, the Pakistan PM said, “I tell my community today that you prepare for the elections. The big conspiracy that was being done from the country has failed today.”
Earlier, speaking in the National Assembly, Imran Khan’s minister Fawad Hussain strongly opposed the no-confidence motion. Fawad Hussain said that no-confidence motion is a democratic right but unfortunately it is an effective operation for change of power by a foreign government. Shortly after Fawad Hussain’s address, Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri rejected the no-confidence motion and adjourned the assembly till April 25.
Opposition to Supreme Court
The opposition strongly opposed this decision of the Deputy Speaker. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari accused Imran Khan of violating the Constitution. He said that this is a betrayal with the voice of Pakistan. Bhutto said he would challenge the deputy speaker’s decision in the Supreme Court.
