Delhi and Bangalore teams will clash in the final
Money will rain on WPL champion team
New Delhi. The final of the Women’s Premier League will be played between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday at the Ferozshah Ground in New Delhi. Both the teams are gearing up for the title match. Delhi has booked the ticket for the final for the second consecutive time, while RCB has reached the title match for the first time. Royal Challengers Bangalore team captained by Smriti Mandhana is on the threshold of creating history. RCB men’s team has not been able to become IPL champion yet, whereas Mandhana has a chance to create history by making the team champion for the first time. However, whichever team becomes champion among the two teams, history will be created because this will be the first title for both. Money will rain on the winning team.
Last time, the winning Mumbai Indians team was given a prize money of Rs 6 crore, while the runner-up Delhi Capitals got Rs 3 crore. However, BCCI has not yet given any update regarding the prize money. In such a situation, it is expected that like last time, this time the team that wins the trophy will be given prize money only after winning the first season. The Women’s Premier League team champion will get Rs 1 crore more than the Ranji Trophy winning team. Mumbai was given Rs 5 crore as prize for winning Ranji Trophy 2024 for a record 42nd time while the runner-up got Rs 3 crore.

Smriti Mandhana can create history
Australian player Meg Lanning is commanding the Delhi Capitals team. But all eyes are on Smriti Mandhana who will lead RCB in the final. RCB men’s team has reached the finals thrice before but has had to return disappointed every time. But will Mandhana create history by breaking this myth? It will be interesting to see. A total of 7 players have captained the RCB men’s team, from Virat Kohli to Faf Du Plessis, but no one has been able to make the team champion.
RCB played the eliminator match while remaining at number four.
RCB women’s team did not perform well in the first edition of WPL. The team was able to win only 2 out of eight matches. This time, RCB, being at number four, defeated the defending champion Mumbai in the last over in the eliminator and booked the ticket for the final. Ellyse Perry has performed all-round for RCB so far, while Mandhana is also doing wonders with the bat.
