New Delhi. At present, the cases of brain tumor are increasing very fast. But despite that, the number of patients taking treatment is not increasing that fast. The number of people suffering from this disease is more but very few people go for treatment. The main reason for this is the rumors flying about the disease and also people do not know about the symptoms of this disease, that is why people are away from its treatment. It is not us but Dr. Nitin Dwivedi, neuro oncologist of Bhagwan Mahavir Cancer Hospital and Research Center, Jaipur says. Dr. Dwivedi told that this year the theme of World Brain Tumor Day is “Uniting for Hope, Empowering Brain Tumor Patients”. The theme is indeed contemporary for today’s times as well. As soon as the patient comes to know about the brain tumor, it is completely broken and disintegrated and he does not undergo treatment. Very few people can muster the courage to accept it.
Do not ignore the symptoms, it is necessary to be aware for treatment
The main symptoms of this disease are severe or persistent headache, muscle weakness, difficulty walking, intermittent claudication, weakness on one side of the body, coordination problems, or weakness of the arms and legs, dizziness, vomiting, Feeling pins and needles or loss of touch, blurred vision, trouble speaking and understanding properly or losing consciousness, difficulty speaking or personality changes, seizures, fainting, all these symptoms can be signs of a brain tumor.
66% of tumors are not cancerous
Dr. Nitin Dwivedi told that people get scared on hearing the name of brain tumor, but these tumors are completely different from other tumors. According to the investigation, 66 percent of the tumors are normal tumors, which are not cancerous. The survival rate for patients under the age of 15 is 75 percent. At the same time, patients aged 15 to 39 have a survival rate of 72 percent and patients over 40 have a survival rate of 21 percent.
In such a situation, it becomes very important in today’s time that if you see patients suffering from brain tumor, then encourage them, motivate them to seek treatment, join their pain and make them strong. If we take this pledge today that we all unite to give strength to brain tumor patients, then the burden of this disease can be reduced to a great extent.
